The overall winner in each category is whoever gets the most total points in two rounds. Round 1 voting is open until November 23, 2012. Final round is scheduled on December 12, 2012 during UP 2012 conference.

Update: First round is used to select top 5 candidates to participate in the final and decisive round. Points collected in first round do not count towards final round. The entry that gets most votes in the final round will be the winner in category.

GlassHouse Technologies, a global provider of vendor independent data center consulting and managed services, recently (August) announced the release of its Stateless Reference Architecture, based on VMware View™ 5.1with Atlantis ILIO Diskless Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) storage optimization software and the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS). GlassHouse was commissioned to develop the solution based on its virtualization expertise and vendor independent objectivity. The reference architecture simplifies VMware View deployments, enabling customers to deploy storage-less virtual desktops using only server CPU and RAM, creating a better user experience than a physical PC. In many cases, customers have to compromise on either the cost per desktop or the user experience when they deploy VDI.
