Award Selection Process

Eligibility And Criteria

You can register for the UP 2011 Cloud Awards by filling out the online nomination form by September 30, 2011.

Nominees are responsible for all the legal aspects of an entry and assures that the entry (e.g. product, service, demo, or concept) adheres to all current laws and regulations. All entrants are responsible for ensuring that they have full usage rights to their entries and the right to use the works and their elements when participating in the Award as a whole.

Proposals must be submitted in English.

If your company is selected as finalist, you can send two representatives to attend the conference in person (a value of $499 / person). You are responsible for travel costs.

All the companies who submit for nomination will be notified of the finalists selection.

All judges decisions are final.

These awards are open to all companies globally who otherwise meet the criteria to apply. Companies wishing to participate in the UP 2011 Cloud Awards are required to have proprietary ownership over their cloud computing technology, solution or service offering.

The UP 2011 Judging committee has the right to refuse entry to companies, teams or products that do not fulfil the criteria, submit incomplete or late applications or as otherwise justified at the advisory boards discretion. Companies nominated by third parties must consent to the nomination and a representative needs to agree to attend the event if selected as a finalist.

All nominations are due by September 30, 2011.
Once all nominations have been reviewed and considered, a panel of judges will select the finalists in each category who will be invited to attend and present at the UP 2011 Cloud Computing Conference and Cloud Awards on December 5 and 6 in Mountain View, CA. At the conference, finalists will have the opportunity to present their product/service to a live audience and virtual audience through live video streaming. Finalists in each of the "cloud provider" categories will also have an opportunity to display their product/service at a booth at the two day event. Finalists will be notified by October 31, 2011.

The selection process of those companies who make it to the final will be decided on by members of the distinguished UP 2011 advisory board as well as impartial and independent Cloud Computing experts.

Award Ceremony

Throughout the conference on December 5 and 6, finalists will deliver brief presentations describing their company and/or cloud offerings to a panel of judges and live and virtual audience. Two winners will be selected in each category: an official UP 2011 winner selected by a panel of judges and an "Audience Choice" winner selected by the audience. The results of the winners in each category will be announced at the UP 2011 Cloud Computing Conference and winners will be acknowledged and accept awards on stage. Proceedings will also be streamed live to virtual delegates worldwide (last year over 7,000 delegates tuned in live with tens of thousands viewing proceedings on demand).

At the end of the day, proceedings will conclude with the award ceremony recognising the winners in each category.

During the 2 day live event, finalists will deliver brief presentations describing their company and/or cloud offerings and winners will be announced and accept awards live on stage. Award finalists will be notified by October 15, 2011.

The presence of all nominees at the UP-START 2011 Cloud Awards Finals, and the rest of the 2-day live event in Mountain View is welcome.

Proceedings will also be streamed live to all virtual delegates in attendance. (Last year over 7,000 online delegates tuned in live with tens of thousands viewing proceedings on demand)
